This ruby colored wine is saturated, has a medium body and a medium finish. In the nose I get red fruit, earthy, oak, cedar, and balogna (I was surprised also). In the mouth I get red fruit, tannic, and tobacco. This wine was definitely better 2 hours after opening, even though I used a decanter to start. The additional time to breathe allowed more of the fruit to come forward. It paired with black licorice, beef steak, and pepperoni bites. 2019 vintage
